About The Doorsmen
During the past three years The Doorsmen have been together we've played for thousands of people at a wide variety of venues from concerts-in-the-park to local clubs to include Blake Farm Concerts at The Preserve, Southport in the Park, OKI in the Park, St. James Park, American Fish Company, 7-Mile Post, Ogden Tap, Southport Tap & Cellar, Lazy Turtle on OKI, Tiki Bar in Southport and many more. We look at all of our engagements as a special time for our audience to get away from the everyday, forget about the tough stuff, and just dance and sing and enjoy the company of old friends, new friends, and family.
A four-piece band with tight 4-part harmonies and superior musicianship, we are the best pop-rock/groove-dance band in the area with a set-list of dance and party hits like Cold Play's "Adventures of a Lifetime" and "Viva la Vida," Mac Saturn's "Mr. Cadillac," and Blackberry Smoke's "Believe You Me" to well-loved classic dance songs like David Bowie's "Let's Dance," Stevie Wonder's "Boogie on Reggae Woman," Toto's "Africa," Men at Work's "Land Down Under," George Michael's "Freedom 90," AhHa's "Take on Me," and Crosby, Stills & Nash's "Love the One You're With." Our song list also includes music from The Grateful Dead, Paul Simon, Jack Johnson, and The Police.
We have this stable of songs because each member of the band has over 30 years of experience playing in a number of different bands covering a wide variety of genres. You can rest assured that The Doorsmen are committed to making your event more than special, but "Off the Hook!"

He attended SUNY Fredonia’s school of music, where he played both double bass and electric in a wide variety of jazz, pop, and classical ensembles. Since graduating college, Erik has continued playing a wide variety of music in groups up and down the East Coast as well as spending some time in the studio recording original material. In 2021, Erik moved to Southport with his partner, Karen, their dog Annie, and Kimba the Orange Cat. Here Erik began working with several area artists and, with Mark Barca, formed the Doorsmen.

David was raised on Long Island in a large musical family that sang harmonies together from the time he could talk. He began playing piano at 4, drums at 6, bass at 9, and finally fell in love with the guitar when he was 10. He played with several bands over the years in Boston, Nashville, London, Atlanta, Chapel Hill, Austin, New York, Washington DC, and Raleigh. He and his wife, Amy, and two of their four kids moved to the Southport area in 2022. Mark grew up in Connecticut and got his first drumset at age 4. He did not listen to his teachers, as he told them he wanted to be a drummer. Mark was the drum leader for his high school marching band and had his first rock band at age 14. He loves the ’80s vibe, but will play it all. Mark has recorded on various records and played on a jam band CD that went to #19 on the Jam Band National Charts. Mark moved to the Southport area in 2019. Mark brings solid groove to The Doorsmen now! He loves the beach, golf, and his wife, Holly. Come Groove!
